What changed, release by release.

Every update is free for everyone who owns Notchable. The app checks for updates on its own; the current version is 2.1.

  1. Version 2.1

    Rolling out

The desktop app grows up, and the notch learns to change shape.

    • Live activities: the notch itself widens to show a running focus session, a due reminder or your next task, then returns to its normal size.
    • Desktop app redesigned to feel native to macOS: sidebar vibrancy, calm Things-style lists, a quiet inspector.
    • Two-way Apple Reminders sync. Complete, rename or reschedule on either side and the other follows.
    • Much more accurate capture: "the 25th", "next friday", "in an hour", "for wednesday's meeting" and "pay rent eom" all land on the right day. A 12-hour clock bug that shifted evening captures by 12 hours is fixed.
    • Drag a task onto Today, Upcoming, Inbox or a project to triage it. Undo for complete and delete. Arrow keys, Enter and Delete work on the list. Double-click to rename. Search with Cmd+F.
    • Today's empty state offers the next few Inbox and Upcoming tasks to pull in.
    • Opening the notch no longer pauses music: the microphone is not touched until you actually start speaking.
    • The notch shape is measured from your screen at launch, so it sits exactly on the physical housing.
  2. Version 2.0

Notchable becomes a full app without giving up the notch.

    • New desktop window with Today, Upcoming and Inbox smart views, projects, sub-tasks, recurring tasks, notes and a completed log.
    • Weekly review: an AI summary of what you finished, one thing to improve and the pattern behind it, cached once per week.
    • A clearer capture model: tasks with a date or explicit urgency go to Today, everything else waits in the Inbox to be triaged.
    • Sub-task editor redesigned, task rows unified between the notch and the desktop, batched clear-completed.
    • Notes in the notch scroll with the caret while you type.
  3. Version 1.4

    Faster, more accurate cloud AI.

    • Cloud AI moved to Grok 4.1 Fast: lower latency and better date handling.
    • Licensing groundwork for one license across your Mac and a companion device.
  4. Version 1.3

Notchable AI on-device and 25 languages.

    • Lite: an on-device model (Qwen3 1.7B, about 1 GB) that categorizes tasks without sending anything off your Mac and unloads from memory when idle.
    • The interface translated into 25 languages.
  5. Version 1.0

The first release: a task manager that lives in your Mac's notch.

    • Hover the notch to capture by voice or keyboard.
    • AI sorting into priority, category and time estimate.
    • Pomodoro timer, calendar view and Apple Reminders sync.
    • One-time purchase with a 3-day trial.
